BIOGRAPHY

Pachy Lopez (born Reinaldo Ricardo López Cabello) is a GRAMMY®-nominated Cuban-American singer-songwriter and composer whose work has shaped Latin pop and tropical genres for over three decades. Born in Havana, Cuba, he began playing guitar at age eight, inspired by his parents, his father a percussionist and his mother a nightclub singer. After defecting from Cuba, he settled in Miami in 1990 and launched a prolific career as a songwriter.

His catalog includes over 180 published songs, recorded by top Latin artists such as Marc Anthony, Gente De Zona, Luis Enrique, Jerry Rivera, Rey Ruiz, Victor Manuelle, Alejandra Guzmán, Yuri, and Willy Chirino. With a back catalog administered by Sony Music Publishing and Peermusic, his credits include “Amor de Novela” and “Navegándote" by Jerry Rivera, and "Si Pudiera Amarte" by Myriam Hernández, showcasing his versatility. Beyond songwriting, he holds a BS in Communication from Florida International University and has also worked as a photographer and event producer. His creative reach spans music, theater, and visual arts, a testament to his lifelong devotion to storytelling and cultural expression.

In 2025, he reemerged as a solo artist with Buena Fortuna, a heartfelt collection of original songs co-written with Jorge Luis Piloto who is also the producer. The album features standout tracks like “Mi Bendición,” “Estrellitas y Sueños,” and the upbeat title track, blending poetic lyrics with acoustic textures and tropical rhythms. Recorded in an intimate Miami home studio with local musicians, Buena Fortuna marks a new chapter in Pachy’s artistic journey, one rooted in gratitude, love, and musical craftsmanship.
